Congratulations to the Boys Outdoor Track and Field Team
The Boys Outdoor Track and Field Team defended their Queens Championship from a year ago valiantly but came up just short, placing 2nd in the championships. They completed this feat despite graduating 14 members from the 2011 team. Christian Ramsay placed 2nd in both the Pantathlon and Discus. He broke the school record that was set last year with 2600 points. Arnis Memetaj, despite being injured most of the season, went out with clutch performances, placing 3rd in the discus and winning the javelin with a throw of 148 feet. Breaking his own school record by 17 feet, Felipe Yanez continued the pace he set last year by wining the 1600 meter and 800 meter and taking 2nd in the 3200 meter. Po Efekoro, a new sophomore sensation, broke into the party with a monster showing, placing 2nd in the shot put, 5th in javelin, and showing his championship mettle while placing 1st in the discus. Kenny Yu also did well by placing 4th in the high jump and 1st in the 110 meter high hurdles. Congratulations to the boys of the team; you all contributed in one way or another to make this season a successful one!
